Young Russian fashion designer Lisa Shahno won Createurope: Fashion Design Award this year fo her lates collection “Squaring the Square” She just launched brand new website.

The Global warming problem is actual throughout many years, but researchers of northern pole and the Arctic ices face set of problems. Transport problems, life-support problems in a polar climate, problems of communications etc. the There are two ways of problem decision: 1. Creation of constantly operating infrastructure on northern pole (but it’s very expensive and dangerous) 2. creation of independent working mobile units which are easily transported, more availible and safe. People can use this units in every point in polar climate for different goals.

Mobile unit accomodates life support for 3 people for 15 days and operates between -40 and +10C with winds up to 85 km/h.
Closed unit is easy transportable — it’s dimensions are very close to 3′ Dry Freight Container (popular marine container).
After the placing arctic mobile unit unpacks. Module parts are moved apart — volumes for a wc, a work/rest zone, galley and the power engine-generator blocks arises. End faces of put forward parts are allocated by horizontal notches — it helps for polar explorers to use the unit. The interior volume is close to inhabited — laconic white surfaces with the colour accents, the natural light, the built in transformed furniture, a separate wc – it’s necessary for mixed team (males and females).

This text will concern last two posts on DESIGNEAST. Recently I was browsing for some interesting news to post in here, I said to myself what about to check Moscow based Art Lebedev Studio maybe they will have something new. And they had, it was this Rozetkus 3D power socket. I said wow that is pretty nice idea and it is very well stylized and elaborated. Wow I love this development process images. It is always exciting to see it. Not just final product where you don’t see what is behind.
Then I said OK, lets put it on the blog and share it. Then I have loaded DESIGNEAST and I was surprised, what? what? is that? I saw same idea already on the blog. I said wow for second time or third?
Now it looks like that I don’t know what is happening on DE blog
but as you may know we have contributor from Serbia, designer Denis Bostandzic and he just uploaded Letout Outlet project of designer Damjan Stankovic couple minutes before I loaded it into my browser.
What a coincidence can happen. I think this kind of things happens sometimes. Designers dream about the same idea in different parts of the world and sometime they meet, sometime they don’t.
Do you have your own experience? Share your thoughts. Thank you.

Rozetkus 3D power socket a compact 5-plug socket from Art Lebedev Studio neatly hides inside the wall until extra plugs are needed.

Keep your electric outlets organized and safe while removing unnecessary clutter. Never have to search for an outlet multiplier again. Keep it simple, with only one push. By pressing the top of the outlet you release the rest of it’s body and the remaining outlets that were hidden inside the wall. Push back when you don’t need additional outlets.

We try to organize our homes to be as comfortable and practical as possible but sometimes all it takes are a few tweaks to make things simple. The Letout Outlet is a perfect example of hidden functionality in seemingly common household objects. The purpose of the outlet is reduce unnecessary clutter, keep outlet multipliers and cables neatly organized and generally make life easier when in need of multiple power sources. With the outlets safely hidden inside the walls multipliers become obsolete, as the additional outlets are simply a push away.

When the top of the outlet shell is pressed, the rest of it’s body is released and the remaining outlets  that were previously hidden inside the wall compartment become visible and ready to use. When they are no longer needed another simple push puts them back into their original place. The outlet’s “hidden function†concept can be used in lots of different ways. For example it can  alternatively serve as a hidden compartment for cell phone chargers.

This brilliant product is work of Damjan Stankovic, Belgrade located design genius that has won several Red Dotâ„¢ awards this year.

The scope of exhibited products reaches from Barcelona to Bulgaria, from vehement weapons to enlightened surveillance. What these products have in common are the juxtapositioning of realities. Manga figurines in golden and platinum hand-painted porcelain clothes; a super-sized Kalashnikov in admonishing red; a floor lamp with surveillance cameras as shiners.
